My best friend lives in the USA (missouri) and I live in Canada (Toronto). He just got xbox today and we tried to play together but it wouldnt connect us. was it just a bug today or is it impossible to join partys from 2 different countries
You can play with anyone, anywhere in the world, as long as you both have xbox live gold accounts. I live in the UK, and play with people from all over the world almost every day.
You may have a NAT issue causing problems. Thxbox live canadais is a setting that will need to be adjusted on your, or your friend's, (or both), your routers. It's basically a firewall that prevents unwanted access to your server. You need to tell your router to allow Xbox live to have full access to your server.
It's not as complicated as it sounds. Check this guide to help you set this up, or ask about it on the Xbox forums. It's really quite simple to sort out.
It's possible, it's probably just your connectionsxbox live canada. Try testing your connection to Live. If you have a moderate or strict NAT, that's why. Xbox support has a whole section about it on the website.
